About us

The Bungalow was built in 1932, and has led many lives. Originally an Arts and Crafts roadhouse, it featured one of the largest dance floors in Lake County and was a popular destination for vacationers from San Francisco. It later flourished as a bar and restaurant (The Idelwise, The Flamingo and The Lake Place) and underwent many changes.

In 1996, Mike (mike@thebungalow.com) and Kathey (kathey@thebungalow.com) Cassidy saw the potential in the shuttered restaurant and spent the last 10 years lovingly restoring the building and grounds while converting it into a premium bed and breakfast. They are now retired from a combined 72 years of teaching kindergarten and junior high school, and wish to share The Bungalow with you.

We hope you will come enjoy the lake and take a relaxing break from the everyday at our beautiful bed and breakfast.

golden-doodle (golden retriever/poodle cross!).
His favorite activities include chasing the ducks,
riding in the boat and greeting guests.
